ICD-10
KHIMA is committed to helping you in the transition to ICD-10. There will be upcoming training sessions to help in preparation and implementation of ICD-10. Please check out the links below for helpful resources.

History: Development of ICD-10 was completed in 1992. ICD-10 has a higher degree of specificity as there are 155,000 different code assignments available in ICD-10 compared to the 17,000 codes in ICD-9. ICD-10 allows the capture of severity of illness, measure health care services provided to the patients, enhance clinical decision-making, track public health issues, assist in the collection of data for medical research, and identify fraud and abuse. ICD-10 is also the international standard to report and monitor diseases and mortality.
